delegation from Bangladesh called on him at Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhaban in New Delhi on Saturday afternoon. The High Commission of India in Dhaka in cooperation with the Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports, and Ministry of External Affairs of India organised the tour for Bangladeshi delegation for the third time. The President in his speech said that the visiting youths are of second generation after Bangladeshs independence in 1971. You people will have to work for tomorrow, said President Pranab. He said that India attaches the highest importance to the relationship with Bangladesh, the next-door neighbour. India and Bangladesh share not only borders but also common history, culture and heritage, observed the president. He also mentioned that Rabin-dranath Tagore wrote the national anthems of both Bangladesh and India. He urged the visiting youths to work towards strengthening relationships between the two countries and giving it permanent shape. Referring to Indias cooperation extended to Bangladesh during the liberation war in 1971 and the existing relations with the country, President Pranab Mukherjee welcomed the youth delegates in India. He also wished an enjoyable and educative visit by them in India where a number of historical events took place. Indian Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Secretary Rajeev Gupta, Bangladeshi delegates Mahbub Alam Polash and Quazi Shahreen Hoque also addressed the meet. Counsellor (Political and Information) Sujit Ghosh of Indian High Commission in Dhaka handed over a memento to the president on behalf of the delegation at that time. The visit aimed at strengthening people-to-people contact and understanding of the two countries. The delegation comprising students of different universities, professionals and journalists reached India on October 13 for the eight-day visit. They have visited different places of historic and tourist interests in Mumbai and Delhi as of Saturday.
