Juba League man killed, 20 injured:Daily Sun

 A Juba League activist was killed and over 20 others were injured in a violent clash between the ruling party-men and BNP activists at Purinda Bazar in Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Amzad Hossain Mollah, 38. Police said the fighting took place over tearing down some posters in different places. e down several posters pasted by BNP activists at different points on Saturday. In protest, BNP activists on Sunday also tore some posters pasted by Awami League men in the bazaar, police said. The incident provoked activists of both organisations into locking a violent clash that left the Awami League activist dead. Both the groups exchanged gunshots during the clash that took place around 11:00am. Araihajar police OC Mohammad Alamgir said the incident resulted in traffic suspension on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway for an hour. On information, law enforcers went to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were sent to different hospitals for treatment. Of them, two people, including Amzad Mollah, were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police and hospital sources said Mollah received a bullet in the chest.
