Sports personalities have expressed their mixed reactions over banning Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan from all forms of cricket for six months. The decision taken by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) can harm Bangladesh cricket in future. Shakib has a severe attitude problem but why BCB did not ever take any steps to make him aware of it. I think cricketers use the opportunity because
of BCBs causality, said former BCB Director and former national cricketer Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu. On the other hand, BCB disciplinary committee chairman Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir shared his opinion with media over the issue. Undoubtedly Shakib is our role model. He is an extraordinary cricketer and a pride for our nation but Shakib was travelling to the Caribbean without any clearance from the BCB. Im agreeing over BCBs decision whatever they decided. I hope the decision is a clear message for other cricketers, said Sirajuddin. Cricket is a game for gentleman. So, a cricketer has to control his composure and lead a disciplined life. Cricket idol and great Sachin Tendulkar was never accused of any single scandal throughout his cricketing career and he was famous through his decent behaviour. A cricket team never depends on a cricket icon. It depends on a successful team work. I hope the rest of the cricketers will be aware of their behaviour in future, he added. However, Shakib Al Hasans fans urged the authorities concerned to investigate the entire issue for finding out the truth. They also claimed that Shakib was innocent. However, apart from earlier disciplinary breaches during his international career, Shakib has several run-ins with the authority this year too. His infamous lewd gesture towards the camera during the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka ODI series earned him a three-match ban, and at the moment, a BCB disciplinary committee is investigating his alleged brawl with a spectator during a Bangladesh-India game last month. Shakib Al Hasan, who reportedly threatened to quit playing Tests and ODIs for Bangladesh five days ago, has been banned by the BCB from all forms of cricket for six months and will not be granted an NOC to play in overseas competitions until the end of 2015. The decision was taken at a board of directors meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Monday. The punishment was handed out because of Shakibs serious misbehaviour with Bangladeshs new coach Chandika Hathurusingha, and for his altercation with a spectator during the recent first ODI against India in Mirpur.
