Militant organisations thriving secretly:Daily Sun

 Five militant organizations have been disbanded with a view to routing militancy from the country. The process is going on to ban II more organizations. The government has declared bounties to nab the militants. Police, RAB and intellace are carrying on various investigation and drives. But there is no let up in the militant activities in the country. They are being regrouped remaining in hiding.

The educated and trained people are being drawn the organization. Fund is coming from abroad. The militants staying abroad are also active. Security experts said, They are waiting for opportunity and may commit sabotage like August 21 anytime. Meanwhile, there is no trace of the 84 militants who came back from Afghanistan. It is learnt that more than one top leader of Al-Qaeda has divert link with them. 266 militants accused in under trail cases in different courts have come out of the jail taking bail. Of them 87 have fled the country. Only 32 militants appear before the court, the rest are absconding. The investigation of over 100 cases against militants are stalled. The IOs have failed to present before the court information and evidence. Meanwhile, 17 organisations assigned to work against militancy are inactive now. Even day do not hold regular meetings. When the attention of state minister for home Asaduzzaman Khan was drawn he said different tactics are being adopted to contain the activities of the militant organisations. The imams of the mosque will be utilised and the 17 organisations will be activated. Work is going on to identify those who were patronising the militants. Information are available that the activists of JMB, HUZI, Shahdat Al Hikma, Jagroto Muslim Janata and Hizbut Tahrir did not stop even after the disbanding of those. HUZI leader Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Maulana Taj Uddin, JMB leader Maulana Sayem are leading them from India and South Africa. Recently this correspondent had some talks with a JMB leader under special arrangement. He said “We want to implement the law of Allah. We are not working to harm the government. But the government has hanged out leaders. We are now regrouping ourselves remaining in underground. JMB and HUZI members have by and large united. Attempts are being made to launch a new organisation. Its name also has been chosen but it cannot be disclosed now. We shall come to the limelight when the situation is favourable. Fund is coming from abroad. Our brothers in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Quarter are helping us.” Police IGP Hasan Mahmood Kandker told Kaler Kantho, “It cannot be said that militants have been routed from the country, but they are under control.”
