A team of police arrested the ringleader of the notorious Mosha gang of Rupganj upazila, Mosharaf Hossain Mosha, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Sunday. Immigration police handed Mosha over to Airport police station. Later, he was taken to Rupganj police station, sources said. Mahmudul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Rupganj police station, said criminal Mosha is accusedof countless misdeeds in Rupganj and a number of arrest warrants were issued against him. Mosha went into hiding to evade capture for long, the police official noted. “Mosha is accused in a number of cases filed with Rupganj, Badda, Vatara and Khilkhet police stations. He is a listed terrorist in Rupganj area.” Sub-inspector Gias Mia said a dozen cases were lodged against Mosha and his gang in different times with Rupganj police station. “Mosha is now in police custody and might be produced to Narayanganj court today (Monday).” Locals said Mosha and his gang was involved in misdeeds, including land grabbing, murder, rape, extortion and looting, in Rupganj. People had been in terror of losing valuables as well as their lives due to torture by his men. Mosha had been arrested many times before but he walked free on bail every time and then he re-engages in criminal activities, many victims said. Mosharraf is the son of Abdul Motalib, an inhabitant of Nowra under Kayetpara in Rupganj.
