Khaleda is a killer, of perverted mentality: PM:Daily Sun

Sheikh Hasina Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina termed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as a killer with a perverted mentality as she killed people in the name of movement, and celebrated her birthday on August 15. The premier asked her to go to Pakistan as the BNP chief doesn’t believe in the independence of Bangladesh. “There are the many who still want to be the slaves of Pakistan. They do not believe in
the country’s independence. Khaleda Zia is one of those who still remain with the defeated forces. The persons who want to be slaves of Pakistan may leave Bangladesh for Pakistan,” Hasina said while addressing a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday. Dhaka city Awami League organised the programme, marking the 39th assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu along with most of his family members was brutally killed on August 15 in 1975. Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League, said Ziaur Rahman made a green signal to kill Bangabandhu as self-confessed killers Faruk and Rashid in an interview with the BBC admitted the matter. “In the interview, Faruk and Rashid said they met Zia before the killing and Zia said that he would be with them if they would be successful,” Hasina said, adding that the killers would not get any place on the soil of Bangladesh. The premier also termed Zia ‘agent’ of Pakistan as he maintained relations with Pakistan during the war of independence in 1971. “The letter of Pakistani army official Mirza Aslam Beg mentions Zia’s link with Pakistan during the liberation war,” she said. The premier alleged that killer Mustaque promoted Zia as the chief of the army. “How did he get the promotion to the top position? Will they answer?” she posed questions. The premier alleged that Zia ignoring the military rules declared himself president of the country and killed several thousand army officers and politicians. She said Zia also rehabilitated the killers of Bangabandhu by awarding jobs in foreign missions. “It is beyond any doubt that one who awarded the killers was linked with the Bangabandhu killing,” she said. Mentioning BNP’s link with the Banganbadhu killing, the premier said BNP enforced a general strike in 1996 to halt the verdict. “The way Zia rehabilitated the killers, Kahleda Zia also patronised the anti-liberation elements. It is not doubt that they were linked with the killing,” she said. The premier also raised finger on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia for issuing a condolence message to Pakistan retired general Janjua. Claiming BNP has a link with the defeated forces, the premier said, “Pakistan retired army official Janjua died and Khaleda Zia sent a condolence motion. You just think what a deep relation they had and issued the condolence message.” The premier asked the supporters of the defeated forces to keep one matter in mind that the defeated forces would not be able to rise in Bangladesh. The people will not allow them to rise,” she said. Mentioning the trial of war criminals, the prime minister said the perpetrators would not get any place on the soil of the land. “We have tried the perpetrators and executed a verdict. The verdict against the rest will also be executed,” she said. Terming Khaleda as killer and perverted, the premier said, “If she is not perverted, she would not celebrate her birthday on August 15 [the national mourning day].” She alleged that they killed several hundred people to foil the January 5 elections. “Despite killing several hundred of people, her quench for blood is yet not over,” she said, adding that the way the Pakistanis killed Bangladeshis during the war, they killed people in that manner in the name of foiling the polls. Portraying the mayhem before the polls, the premier said they killed several hundred people in the name of foiling the polls. “Her quench for blood is yet not over. The way the Pakistani killed people in 1971, they killed people in that style,” she said, alleging that the BNP chief and her son had a lone work of killing people after 2001. Mentioning her return despite risk, Hasina said she had nothing left to loose and nothing have to gain. “I do not dare death. I am not only a daughter of Bangabandhu but also a soldier of his ideals. Turning the grief into strength, I have returned home to make people happy,” she said, adding that she was attacked several times. “Without the support from the state level, such attacks could not be carried out,” she said. Dhaka University vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Sidduque, AL leaders, including Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta, Matia Chowdhury and Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, among others, addressed the rally with Dhaka city unit acting president MA Aziz in the chair. Addressing the rally, Tofail Ahmed said that Zia had a link with Bangabandhu killing while his son Tarique Rahman was involved in the 21 August grenade attack. “The defeated forces of 1971 killed Bangabandhu,” he said. Tofail, also the commerce minister, said, that the BNP had started hatching conspiracies after being failed to foil the January 5 elections. Selim termed Khaleda Zia as stupid, uncultured and conscienceless woman for celebrating her fake birthday on the National Mourning Day. Regarding Tarique’s statement on Awami League, he asked the BNP leader to return home if he has the courage. He urged the government for taking a move to bring him back as the later has been hatching conspiracies.
