n Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair. Raushan said miscreants would continue with their misdeeds if the rule of law is not established. The countrymen are not taking the matter positively. Its the governments responsibility to provide security to the people, she said, asking the administration to ensure public security at any cost. Taking the floor, the opposition leader asked the government to form a commission in order to fix the National Broadcast Policy 2014. If the policy is made through the commission, such criticism could be averted, she said, adding that it is possible to bring changes in the policy in consultation with stakeholders. Demanding exemplary punishment to the killers of Maulana Faruqi and three others of Maghbazar, Raushan said law and order has deteriorated suddenly. She said Faruqi was killed in his home and three others were killed in Maghbazar the next day. Bodies are being recovered from many parts of the country. If the accused are awarded exemplary punishment, such incidents could be averted, she said, adding that miscreants snatched Tk 42 lakh in Gulshan in broad daylight. If the rule of law is not ensured, such incident wont cease. On the deterioration of flood situation, the Jatiya Party lawmaker urged the government to provide more relief to flood victims. Relief is insufficient. More relief along with food and pure water should be provided, she said, adding that rivers must be dredged so that they can absorb more water. Bashing the government for weak monitoring of waterways, the opposition leader said accidents are being taken place every year. Although 500 probe bodies were formed on waterway accidents since independence, only three reports were submitted. She demanded that the premier make Mymensingh a division comprising four districtsSherpur, Jamalpur, Netrakona and Mymensingh. Workers Party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha and Tariqat Federation chairman Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari also spoke on the point of order.
